A few words from the Director… Charlie Delahunty

Well, how quickly time flies when you’re directing your first full show with adults and children. Our launch night last summer feels like only a heartbeat ago. It has been an honour and a privilege to be able to step up and direct this show, and what a show it has become.

Cinderella holds a very special place in my heart. It is the first show I ever saw on a professional stage. I remember it every time I watch or perform a pantomime; the wonder it held, the colours, the laughter and of course the ugly sisters!

We all know the characters and the story, but watch out for those ugly sisters and their wicked mother the Baroness. Will our lovely Fairy Godmother use her magic to help Cinderella go to the ball and find happiness? You’ll have to watch carefully and see!

Directing this show hasn’t been without its challenges and I would like to thank Laura Shields and Keren Arnold, amongst others. Without them we would not have the music and the dances and their support and encouragement have pulled it into the performance you are watching today.

So, sit back, enjoy the show and remember, things are not always as they seem.

Musical Director... Keren Arnold

As part of Nailsea Musicals, you sometimes find yourself wearing a range of different hats (literally and figuratively) but it was a new challenge for me to take on the role of musically directing a pantomime!

It has been made easier by having a talented cast, an amazing rehearsal pianist in Richard Lennox and a fabulous band.

We had so much fun choosing, learning and rehearsing the numbers and I hope you enjoy watching them!

Choreographer... Laura Shields

This show has been a joy to choreograph. With upbeat music, a very talented and enthusiastic cast along with the best band in the South West, we’ll have you dancing out of the aisles by the time we’ve finished! I love the excitement and pride in watching an idea become an all singing, all dancing reality.

This is the first production I have choreographed in its entirety and I have loved every minute of it.

I look forward to our Wednesday evening rehearsals and I hope you enjoy the show as much as we have enjoyed producing it.
